General Care and Information
Handmade Items
All of my items are handmade by me in downtown Turners Falls, MA.
You may occasionally notice a piece of string popping out of your creation. All strings have been secured. Simply use the end of a pencil, chopstick, crochet hook, or other similar item to push the string back inside.
If for some reason you are unhappy with your item or it is not holding up in the way you would like, reach out to me at craftknotart@gmail.com. I am happy to fix and/or replace items if needed.
A Note on Eyes
Many of my items contain safety eyes (plastic button like eyes.) I work very hard to secure these in place. However, there is always a risk that they may become dislodged. As a result, items with safety eyes are not suitable for young children/babies or pets.
If you see an item with safety eyes that you would like for a younger child or pet- just ask! If I don't already have one with embrodiery eyes I am happy to create one for you as a custom order.
Washing
Spot cleaning and hand washing, as needed, are recommended over machine washing.
Spot Clean: Using a clean cloth wetted with cold water and mild detergent gently rub the impacted area.
Hand Wash: Fill a basin with cool water and mild detergent. Submerge and gently squeeze—never scrub or wring. Rinse until clear.
Machine Wash: Most of the yarns I use will stand up to machine washing on a gentle cycle. Yet, I can not guarantee that an item will be ok in after it is machine washed. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you hand wash or spot clean. Please do not try machine washing snapping fidgets or bendys.
If you must try to machine wash, use a mesh bag and a delicate cycle with cool water and low spin. Wash with similar colors only.
Drying
Do not machine dry your creations! Instead follow this process:
Step 1:
If it is a larger flat items without stuffing like a hand towel or pouch:
-
Roll the wet item in a clean towel to absorb moisture. Don't wring.
If it is a pop, stuffie, or other 3D object:
-
Place on a towel and wrap it loosely around the object patting our excess moisture. Don't wring.
Step 2:
Lay flat on a surface away from direct sun. Reshape to original dimensions or size.
Step 3:
Allow to air dry completely before use.
A Note on Snapping Fidgets and Bendys
These items are stuffed with components in addition to poly-fil. The snappers are made from fleece, hot glue, and barrettes. Bendys use a hair curler, cotton, and hot glue. These items are meant to wear with time as they are used. To keep your snapping fidget or bendy in top shape spot clean only.
